With the Indian Premier League (IPL) just nine days away from the start, all ten franchises have resumed their camps and practice sessions at their respective home grounds. In the schedule announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the first phase of IPL, the Punjab King will play only one home fixture and will travel for the other three fixtures.
Moreover, the newly constructed Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh will serve as the first home ground for the franchise in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Although the side will host a couple of games in Mohali, but reports reveal that only two home matches will be played in Dharamsala.
A s reported by PTI, Punjab are expected to play their final two home games in Dharamsala, similarly to how they played in last season. Moreover, the other five games will be held in Mullanpur, Mohali.
Jonny Bairstow to be available for entire IPL 2024
With the T20 World Cup 2024 just days after the IPL, many players have pulled out of the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. But if reports are to be believed, England batter Jonny Bairstow has assured to be featuring in the entire tournament.
It is to be noted that this update comes after discussions that took place between the BCCI officials and their counterparts from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) during the Dharamsala Test. “Bairstow is expected to arrive in India on March 18 or 19 and will be available for the team’s first game against Delhi Capitals on March 23,” a source close to IPL said.
