Days after receiving a wild card entry in the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters 2023, the Austrian tennis star Dominic Theim has now parted ways with his long-time coach Nicolas Massu. The Austrian tennis star took to Instagram to announce this decision on Sunday (April 9).
In the post, Theim expressed gratitude towards Massu and looked back at the journey the two has had. “What an incredible journey…. It all started in early 2019 - you came along with your incredible energy and extreme love for the sport,” he started his message.
“Everything has an end and this end came now. We have decided together that we will go different ways starting next week. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this incredible and beautiful time Nico. I wish you only the best and our friendship will last forever.”
It is to be noted that Theim and Massu have been together since 2019, where the former has clinched several titles. The 29-year-old won the US Open and Indian Wells title with Nicolas. He also featured in the finals of Australian Open, French Open and twice at the Nitto ATP Finals along with Massu.
Theim gets wild card entry in Monte Carlo Masters
The Austrian tennis player just days ahead of start of Monte Carlo Masters received a wild card entry in the ATP Tour Masters 1000 tournament. He will face Richard Gasquet of France in the Round of 64 on April 10.
