India’s star batter Virat Kohli made a brilliant century in Test cricket after three long years on Sunday. Batting for India against Australia in the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23, Kohli scored a massive 186 before he eventually perished to Todd Murphy. The century was more special because it had come after a long wait of 1205 days. And thus, when it came, the Indian cricket team fans went crazy on social media.

Everyone congratulated the cricketer for scoring his 28th Test hundred. Meanwhile, Delhi Police made a quirky social media post while celebrating Kohli’s hundred. DP made a request to the local police (Gujarat Police) to not book Kohli for causing hurt to the guests. “Dear @GujaratPolice, Don't book our Delhi boy #ViratKohli for voluntarily causing hurt to the guests. AUS-SOME, game @imVkohli!” wrote Delhi Police while sharing Kohli’s picture.

Coming to Kohli’s inning, it was pure class from the veteran batter as he batted for 364 deliveries to score those 186 runs. While Shubman Gill (128) provided the start to India, Kohli ensured India capitalize on that start. He held one end for India while others played around him. Eventually, the batter nudged a full ball from Nathan Lyon to get to his century and get off a “600 kg Gorilla”.

Interestingly but not so surprisingly, Kohli hit only 15 boundaries in his marathon inning. The rest, he scored by running between the wickets in the heat of Ahmedabad. On the back of these two centuries (from Gill and Kohli), India scored a mammoth 571 in their first inning, taking a lead of 91 runs over Australia.
