Danish Kaneria, the former Pakistan cricketer, has slammed the Indian journalist named Arfa Khanum Sherwani, for calling him a communal troll on X, the social media microblogging site. The heated argument between these two personalities began when Danish Kaneria asked her to come to his country Pakistan after she felt embarrassed and ashamed to be an Indian, citing the alleged deplorable behaviour of home fans in the ODI World Cup 2023.
As one of the cricketers from the minority Hindu community in Pakistan, Danish Kaneria has caused quite a stir on social media with his fearless views about religion in recent times. The 42-year-old, who picked up 261 wickets in 61 Test matches for the Men in Green as a leg spin bowler, once stated that he was racially discriminated against while playing cricket during his domestic and international career.
In his recent post on X, Danish Kaneria fired back at Arfa Khanum Sherwani for accusing him of unleashing an online lynch mob on her. He said, “‘Lynch’ ‘mob’ ‘communal’ ‘religious’ ‘troll’ ‘unleashed’! Don’t use these propaganda words for me. Did I talk about communalism in my tweet? No! If you don’t like Pakistan, simply say - ‘Danish, I don’t like Pakistan’. That’s it!”
The former Pakistan cricketer sent out his post in response to the comments from Arfa Khanum Sherwani, which read, “Danish Kaneria has unleashed an online lynch mob on me and I am trending on Twitter. Sad to see an intl cricketer celebrated by fans from different religions turning into a communal troll. Rest assured, I’m not leaving my country for Pakistan or any other place in the world.”
