Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 23-year-old has been involved in yet another gun scandal on Instagram Live and got suspended by his NBA franchise. However, amidst all the criticism he has been getting, the former NBA star Dwight Howard has come out in support of Morant and even invited him to Taiwan in case his career doesn’t pan out due to the issues.
Earlier in March, the Grizzlies guard was seen holding a gun in his Instagram Live followed by his suspension from eight games for "holding a firearm in an intoxicated state while visiting a Denver area nightclub."
Taking it to Twitter, the former NBA giant said that Morant can still get his career on the right path. However, he also added that if he feels like he no longer has a chance in the NBA, Morant can always go to Taiwan and join Howard there. Notably, the latter joined the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League for the season 2022-2023. Supporting Morant, Howard wrote, "Aye Ja you gone get it right! I’m still with you if anyone else ain’t you could come out here to Taiwan if anything. Just leave it home."
Notably, Morant was suspended by the Grizzlies after his latest gun scandal. He was spotted holding a gun during his IG Live over the last weekend. The clips from the Live have gone viral, and Morant was with his friend while they were enjoying NBA YoungBoy’s new album. It is to be seen if the youngster is given a lengthy suspension or not. It’s been the second time Morant has been caught up in a scandal. In the 2022-2023 campaign, he was suspended for eight games.
