Eddie Hall broke Alex Pereira’s record and set a new world record on the PowerKube punching machine at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. Poatan as Pereira is called, recently defended his UFC light heavyweight championship belt at UFC 300 by defeating Jamahal Hill in the main event. However, the record he set up a few weeks ago, was broken at the world-famous punching machine at the UFC PI.
Though Hall quit professional competitions due to the toll it was taking on his body, it seems that he hasn’t lost his signature strength. In the famous UFC PI, the Britishman recorded a punch that registered 208, 901 Franklin to the facility’s PowerKube, and surpassed Ngannu’s and UFC star Alex Pereira’s existing records. With this, Hall also became the first athlete to cross the 200,000 mark on the machine.

Pereira had recorded 191,796 and had earlier broken former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Nagnnou’s long-standing score of 129,161. According to the company’s official website, PowerKube works by measuring speed, power, and endurance. The impact power, which is the score of the fighters, combines power (measured in watts) with energy (measured in joules) and forms a metric that reflects the athlete’s striking force accurately.
Notably, this isn’t the first time Hall broke any previous record to set a new one. Having won the World’s Strongest Man title in 2017, Hall became the first man to deadlift 500 kgs under official competition conditions. The lift is now considered one of the most important lifts in strongman history.
