It is now reported that Eintracht Frankfurt’s 22-year old center-forward Hugo Ekitike is attracting interest from a lot of top clubs from the Premier League. The French forward has garnered a lot of attention due to his stats and performances in the Bundesliga, and also featured in the French U-21 national team recently. In a total of 39 matches played, the youngster has scored 19 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions. In light of this; Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool seem to be strong contenders to sign the French forward for the upcoming season, however one of these clubs is at a slight advantage to do so.
Liverpool are said to be looking to offload Darwin Nunez in the upcoming transfer window as he has not impressed Arne Slot with his performances this season. This will create a void in the striker department for The Reds where Ekitike could come in as a handy option. As for the Gunners, their primary striker target seems to be Newcastle’s Alexander Isak however his price-tag could become a problem for Arsenal and hence Frankfurt’s Ekitike seems to be their back-up option. Although the most transfer advantage is held by Manchester United.
A busy transfer window upcoming for Manchester United
Hugo had recently said in an interview that he was a fan of the Red Devils while growing up which could serve as a potential deciding factor on where the 22-year old plays next season. With Ruben Amorim looking to enter his first full season in-charge with smart signings of players who are committed to playing for the club and the manager’s philosophy, Ekitike could be the perfect option.
There have already been rumours of multiple players being linked to Manchester United in the future transfer window. Amorim seems to have his eyes on Sporting Lisbon’s Francisco Trincao as a player to bolster United’s attack for the next season. Similarly current captain Bruno Fernandes has been linked to a move away from Old Trafford with Real Madrid being potential suitors.
