Indian wicketkeeping batter Rishabh Pant who made a return to national colours after a year of surviving a life-threatening car accident appeared in the popular chat show "Aap Ki Adalat" hosted by renowned journalist Rajat Sharma. The young cricketer opened up about the Men in Blue’s heartbreaking loss to Australia in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on home soil in November and highlighted that his presence could have changed how the evening turned out to be.
During the show, the Delhi Capitals skipper said that if he had played the marquee tournament, India would have either scored between 150-200 or 300+. The 26-year-old said, "If I had played the 2023 Cricket World Cup Final then, we would have either been all out for 150 or 200 runs or would have scored over 300+ runs.”
Not only this, but he also opened up on idolising former wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni and said, "MS Dhoni bhai is my Idol. I learned a lot from him. Whenever I need any help, I ask him and he's always ready to help and guide. Everyone has a personal connection with MS Dhoni bhai. He is very humble and doesn't show off that he is a legend. That is why he is the most popular cricketer and gets all the unparalleled love.”
I thought I’ll disturb the mindset: Rishabh Pant on sledging Virat Kohli
The DC skipper opened up on sledging RCB batter Virat Kohli during their clash in the IPL 2024. He revealed that he started it accidentally, and even Kohli was seen mouthing, “I will hit you. Sit down.” Pant told Sharma, "It happened during the RCB game. I was banned without doing anything. I tried a lot to prevent but it wasn’t in my hands. Sitting outside I thought I'll disturb their mindset because the RCB dressing room is right behind the sightscreen.”
He added, “At first I did not know. I thought they are calling their own teammates. Then when I realised, I thought I might as well tease him a little more. I didn't give him the chance to say anything because I escaped.”
