The Blackcaps elected to bowl and England continued its explosive batting approach but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Hence after Jonny Bairstow's wicket, Brook walked in and started with a boundary. Then in the 17th over, Ravindra opened his account with the ball and conceded just a single in his first two balls.
Both these deliveries were short of length as the left-armer sent out a third similar delivery to concede a massive six. The next balls also went for boundaries as Ravindra kept bowling short. Finally, on the last ball of the over, the Kiwi bowler found the breakthrough and sent out another shortish delivery which was mistimed by Harry Brook and cost the Englishman his his wicket.
