The group stage of the Overwatch 2 Esports World Cup 2024 has concluded with the top three teams qualifying for the playoffs while the bottom team from each group is eliminated. The remaining 12 teams will compete now in the playoffs. Group stage featured a total of 16 teams, which were divided into four groups of four teams each. Format
Group Stage: July 24-25
The Group Stage features four groups, each being played in a single round-robin format where all matches are Best of 3. The top three teams from each group advance to the playoffs. The top team from each group receives a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
Playoffs: July 26-28
The playoffs follow a single elimination format, with all matches being Best of 4. In Round 1, the second-placed teams from the Group Stage select one of the third-placed teams from another group as their opponents. The selection order is Group D first, then Group C, B, and A. In the Quarterfinals, the first placed teams from the Group Stage choose one of the Round 1 winners as their opponents, with Group A picking first, followed by B, C, and D.
