The draw for the Euro’24 in Germany took place on December 2, Saturday, and had Spain and Italy placed in the same group while Denmark and England are grouped. A total of 21 teams have already qualified for the tournament, while the other three spots are still vacant, and will be grabbed through a play-off tournament slated in March 2024.
According to the draw, France will play in Group D and will face Netherlands, Austria as well as the winners of Playoff A (Poland, Wales, Finland, Estonia). France won the World Cup in 2018 and made it to the final of the 2022 edition. However, they had a disappointing season during the last Euros where they faced a disappointing R16 exit.
Spain, the winners of the 2008 and 2012 editions of the tournament, will face a tough challenge after being drawn against Italy, the current champions, as well as Croatia. Talking about England, Gareth Southgate's side was drawn against Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia in Group C. The tournament is set to begin on June 14, and earlier on Saturday, UEFA announced the prize money for Euro 2024, where the winner will get a total of $8.70m.
Germany have been in poor form off late and for the 2024 season, they were drawn into Group A as the hosts of the tournament. They are set to kick off the tournament against Scotland and will have other group matches against Hungary and Switzerland.
