India, who were crowned the T20 World Champions earlier this year, are set to begin their Test season. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will be up against Bangladesh from September 19, at home. The forthcoming Tests would be a crucial phase for India in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle as they will participate in 10 Test matches. India are currently ranked number one on the WTC 2023-25 standings with six wins, two losses and one draw and a win percentage of 68.52. 

On the other hand, reigning Test champions, Australia, who defeated India in the WTC 2023 final are placed second. They have played 12 matches so far in the current cycle and have ended up winning eight matches, losing three games, with one draw. The Baggy Greens have a winning percentage of 62.50. The schedule for the WTC final 2025 is out and as per the current scenario and standings, India and Australia are most likely to be up against each other at the Lord’s. 

What do Rohit Sharma and Co. need to do to qualify for WTC 2023-25 final? 

India qualified for the WTC 2023 final with 58.8% and to keep their percentage above 60, they need 63 more points. It can be achieved with five wins and one draw. If the two-time WTC finalists manage to win six matches, it would boost their winning percentage to 64.03%. In order to match their current score of 68.52%, they need to register seven wins which will lift their overall percentage of 69.3. The South Asian giants can achieve the best possible score of 85.09%.
