The Borussia-Park has a total of 54,057 spots, out of which 16,145 are standing places. Although these spots can be used during league games, they cannot be used during international matches, causing the maximum capacity of the stadium to reduce to 46,249 seats. Despite being a large stadium in Germany, the Borussia-Park didn't host any games during the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
