The 2022 edition of the F1 video game is all set to be released on 1st July. The makers of the game, EA Sports and Codemakers revealed the news a few days before. The latest edition will have significant upgrades from its last version i.e. F1 21. Sprint races, adaptive AI, VR, and updated track layout of Australia, Abu Dhabi, and Spain have been added to enhance user experience.
Also, the game is being released in two versions - F1 22 Standard Edition and F1 2022 Champions Edition. The characters featured in these two versions make them different from each other. While the Standard edition will have young drivers like Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and George Russell, the Champions Edition will feature Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Sebastian Vettel.
What's in the box for the fans?
The F1 22 will have a lot many new features that will make the game interesting. Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters revealed how this edition will be more entertaining for the gamers. He revealed that new racers will enjoy competitive racing with adaptive AI keeping the opposing racers tailored to match the skill level.
“We have updated the handling mode more true to a real-life game. With newly updated circuits, Adaptive AI, F1 Life, and expanded gameplay options, there has never been a better time for players to take their seats and live the life of F1 drivers," said Mather.
The F1 Life feature mentioned above will make the game more interesting. Players will be able to show off their clothing, accessories, and even supercars that will be drivable in 'Pirelli Hot Laps Mode'. The PC version of the game also comes with VR compatibility via Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. However, there is no update from the makers on whether the game will have PSVR support or not.
