Social media account, GOATnaldo Junction has issued a clarification after being accused of sharing sponsored posts by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The Facebook fan page had to issue a lengthy statement after a news story reported that Al Nassr forward Ronaldo had paid  GOATnaldo Junction to promote a post where the Portuguese legend takes a sly dig at Lionel Messi on January 14.

Are Ronaldo and Messi involved in troll account funding?

The post was about  Cristiano Ronaldo's claim that the Ballon d'Or and FIFA Best Awards have lost credibility. But after clicking on the now-deleted post's About Partnership section, a message said, "Cristiano Ronaldo compensated GOATnaldo Junction to share this post. Branded content lets creator partners with brands to promote with brands to promote products or services."

Since then, another post by  GOATnaldo Junction has been making the rounds of social media where the page shares a picture with Lionel Messi holding his FIFA Best trophy with the caption, " FIFA The Best 2023 Winner.  Earned, Not Given!"

Neither Ronaldo nor Messi has paid me:  GOATnaldo Junction statement

Addressing both these posts, GOATnaldo Junction shared a statement confirming that Ronaldo and Messi didn't pay the page to share any posts. The statement further detailed how tagging Ronaldo for the post on January 14 was a mistake and how the admin attempted to showcase the issue by tagging Messi in a similar post.

The statement said, Neither Ronaldo nor Messi has paid me. Since I have a branded content feature for Meta, I can easily tag any celebrity with a paid partnership. I actually made a post for Ronaldo. I was also unaware of this feature, but Messi FC blamed Ronaldo, saying he paid for the post. However, he didn't pay me; it's a broken feature of Facebook.

The Facebook algorithm is totally unreliable. I posted about Messi just to make his fans aware. Not everything you see on the internet is real, so stop believing it. I request every major media outlet to stop spreading fake information without clarification. Thank you.  Cristiano Ronaldo Leo Messi.
