The Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the tenth match of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, it was the visiting caption who won the toss, he invited the hosts to bat first at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
After being invited to bat first, the Bengaluru-based franchise put up 182 runs on the board, courtesy an unbeaten 83-run knock from Virat Kohli. During the RCB inning, it was Australian spearhead Mitchell Starc who conceded the most runs and failed to clinch a wicket once again. In his four-over spell, he conceded 47 runs at an economy rate of 11.80. Moreover, with this, the INR 24.75 Crore buy for KKR in total has conceded 100 runs in his two outings in IPL 2024.
Notably, this did not sit well among the fans as they took to social media to let out their frustration. While some compared him to Daryl Mitchell, a few others also took a dig at Shah Rukh Khan and Gautam Gambhir for eyeing Starc at the IPL 2024 auction.
