The FIA and Formula 1 announced the calendar for the 2025 season, which will see the Australian Grand Prix returning as the season opener for the first time since 2020. The upcoming season of the championship will mark its 75th anniversary. The races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which were the season openers in 2024, will take place in April 2025 to avoid clashing the races with the holy month of Ramadan.
As per the calendar, a total of 24 races will take place in 2025 after Australia hosts the season opener on March 14. The season will come to an end with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 7. Apart from that, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile announced no new circuits in the 2025 season and hence, there will be the same 24 races for the upcoming season.
A few changes have been made to the calendar in 2024 to create a better geographical flow of races with Japan in April after Australia and China. Most European races will be conducted over the summer, while America will host races during the Autumn. The action will then shift to Qatar and Abu Dhabi finishing the season.
During the 2025 calendar launch, the President and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, said, “2025 will be a special year as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship, and it’s that legacy and experience that allows us to deliver such a strong calendar. Once again, we’ll visit 24 incredible venues around the world, delivering top-class racing, hospitality, and entertainment, which will be enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide.
