The finalists for the 2024 Athlete of the Year Award have been announced with 11 Olympics champions being shortlisted for the prestigious award. However, 2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist and six-time World Champion Noah Lyles hasn’t made into the list among the top athletes of the world in 2024. The American track and field sprinter clinched the gold medal in the Olympics this year, after winning the 100m race against Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson.

Talking about the finalists, Armand Duplantis and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone are two of the big names to be announced for the Athlete of the Year Award in 2024. Swedish-American pole vaulter Duplantis went on to win his second consecutive gold in the 2024 Olympics while American sprinter Levorone clinched two gold in Paris in 400m track race and 400m hurdles respectively.
