Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their recently released list of retained players, vouched for Heinrich Klaasen, retaining him for INR 23 Crore, the highest across all ten franchises. Besides Klaasen, SRH has also retained other top players including Pat Cummins (INR 18 Crore), Abhishek Sharma (INR 14 Crore), Nitish Kumar Reddy (INR 6 Crore) and Travis Head (INR 14 Crore). With INR 75 Crore already spent on these players, SRH will enter the IPL 2025 mega auction with a remaining purse of INR 45 Crore as they eye for some good buys. They even have one Right to Match (RTM) card in their kitty.
Here in this article, we have listed the top five players SRH might consider bidding on in the upcoming mega auction, set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Abdul Samad
The 23-year-old from Jammu & Kashmir made his IPL debut in 2020 and has been with SRH since then. He participated in every game in 2024. In the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League, Samad amassed 182 runs at a strike rate of 168.51 across 16 innings. He has participated in 50 games overall and amassed 577 runs at a strike rate of 146.07.
He was assigned to be a finisher, and has performed well in giving the innings a boost. Since he is an uncapped player, SRH may consider him the RTM option.

Mitchell Starc
SRH has been struggling with reliable bowlers, and Mitchell Starc could be a good purchase. In IPL 2024, he became the highest-paid cricketer when KKR purchased him for INR 24.50 Crore. But since SRH has a limited amount in its purse, it would be interesting to see if the franchise would still go ahead with good pay.

Shreyas Iyer
After being released by KKR, Shreyas Iyer could be a good bid for SRH. In the previous season, he captained KKR and guided them to the IPL 2024 title. He is quite a dependable hitter, which could bring brownie points for SRH. The franchise may think about purchasing him for more than INR 15 Crore, after he registered in the INR 2 Crore bracket.

Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer has been showing some excellent performance in the fourth round of Ranji Trophy and has even scored a century. His 118* (at the time of writing) shows his ability to stay long on the crease. In IPL 2024, he played for KKR, scoring 370 runs including four half-centuries in 14 matches. For SRH he could be a great addition to contributing towards high scores.

Mohammed Siraj
Since RCB has released Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj, SRH can grab this opportunity to bid on him for IPL 2025. He played his maiden match for RCB in 2018, and has been playing regularly. He has a successful record in international cricket. For RCB, he took 83 wickets in 87 matches, which is quite promising stat.
SRH needs a balanced team of good bowlers and batters, which might help the franchise clinch the title.
