Dani Alves’s team of lawyers has filed another appeal demanding bail for the Brazillian while the case of sexual assault carries on. The lawyers have filed a 200-page report and videos from security cameras that discredit the testimony of the alleged victim and the witnesses. The videos demonstrate that the two were flirting, dancing, and drinking together and that she voluntarily entered the bathroom after Alves did. The footballer has agreed to accept any conditions or restrictions that the court may impose in the event of his release.
The judge denied Alves bail after hearing all the testimonies from the alleged victim, the witnesses, Alves and he considered the player a flight risk. Alves initially lied about the encounter because he was trying to save his marriage he clarified that they had consensual sex.
Alves has been in jail since Jan. 20 after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub in Barcelona on Dec. 30. Dani Alves faces a maximum of 15 years in prison if convicted.
