After revealing on Twitter that he was practically broke, Zimbabwean fighter Themba Gorimbo had an exchange with former professional wrestler Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson on social media, where the Hollywood actor assured him to "be in touch." Recently in a viral video on social media, the welterweight contender disclosed what he will discuss with The Rock when they meet.

Themba Gorimbo made his UFC debut on February 19, 2023, where he lost by submission against American fighter AJ Fletcher in UFC Fight Night 219. However, the Zimbabwean fighter bounced back to win his first bout in the UFC when he defeated Japan's Takashi Sato in UFC Fight Night 223 on May 21, 2023.

After his first UFC victory, Gorimbo took to Twitter and revealed that he was left with only $7.49 before his fight against Sato. He wrote, "This was the money left I had before the fight, and now God granted me a good win and it’s going to be a great one going forward. If it wasn’t for the free @ufc meals I started to receive after I signed the fight I would probably be singing a different story. Grateful."

The Rock, who also had a similar story in his earlier days, responded to The Answer's tweet and wrote, "This is f’n crazy to see and brings back many emotions and memories. $7.49 in this fighter’s bank account. I once had $7 bucks too. I’ve been there on that grind. Got your back, brother. I’ll help. You got this. I’ll be in touch @TheAnswerMMA."

While speaking to TMZ Sports, Themba was asked about the discussion he will have with The Rock and he said, "I feel my story can be a blockbuster movie. Just to where I am now and who is a better man to tell it to the world for me than @TheRock. From the blood diamond mining as a teenager in Zimbabwe to now in @ufc and soon to be champion."

The 32-year-old mixed martial artist auctioned his fighting kit to build a water pump in his village in Zimbabwe. Themba received a $5000 bid and posted a picture with the buyer on his Twitter handle.

After getting the water pump work done in his village, Themba responded to The Rock's tweet and wrote, "I am back in USA Miami @TheRock & going after the American dream to become @ufc champion in 2024. My $7,49 story will be an inspiration to many around the world just like your $7 bucks did.🍀THE LUCKY 7 IT IS🍀 We can be down but never out if we don’t give up on ourselves."
