It was one-way traffic after setting up a mammoth total of 234 runs in 20 overs courtesy of a stunning century from Shubman Gill and brisk knocks from Rahul Tripathi (44), Suryakumar Yadav (24), and Hardik Pandya (30). Gill scored an unbeaten 126 from 63 balls as India post their highest T20I score against New Zealand.

While fans were expecting a close contest, the visitors just crumbled in the powerplay as they were reduced to 21/5 inside the powerplay. Skipper Mitchell Santner (13) and Daryl Mitchell (35) were the only batters who managed to reach the double digits as New Zealand got bundled out for just 66. Hardik Pandya was the star with the ball as he picked 4 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi picked 2 wickets each.
