British TV personality and Cristiano Ronaldo super fan, Piers Morgan trolled Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi as a fan called him out for supporting the Portugal international. Morgan had tweeted about Ronaldo’s stunning header which helped Al-Nassr draw 1-1 with Egyptian club Zamalek and qualify for the quarterfinal of the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Playing at the King Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia, the Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr went 1-0 down in the 53rd minute thanks to a penalty. But in the dying moments of the match, Ronaldo once again came up on top and headed past a stunning goal to draw level. Celebrating this goal, Piers Morgan tweeted, “Another last-minute bullet header equaliser to keep his team in the competition… no prize for guessing who.. the clutch 🐐 @Cristiano.”

But soon American author David Marcus cut short Morgan’s celebration by attaching a gif of Lionel Messi celebrating a goal for Inter Miami. Here Morgan called out the Argentine for taking the embarrassing decision of quitting ‘football’ and playing ‘soccer’ instead.

Talking about the never-ending debate of who is better Ronaldo or Messi, the former Manchester United star had a cheeky comment when Piers Morgan asked him a question regarding this comparison. Morgan, while speaking to TalkSport, shared an anecdote of having dinner with CR7 and asking him, who is the best player he has seen play.

Ronaldo first named Messi but then stated that he has never seen himself play live, making it an invalid question for someone like him. Piers Morgan shared, "I had a very interesting conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo, we had dinner after I first interviewed him three years ago, it was a really great conversation and I really like him as a person. He was incredibly respectful about Messi and I said to him, 'Who's the best player you've ever seen?' He said, 'Messi, but you're asking the wrong question, you're not asking me who is the best player…', because, of course, he has never seen himself play live."
