SunRisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins’ strategy and in-direct warning for the rivals went viral after a spectacular show against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The sides battled it out on April 15, and the cash -rich league saw several records making and breaking. The Hyderabad-based franchise registered its fourth victory of the season, as they defeated Bengaluru by 25 runs. After the match, the skipper lauded the team for their effort as well as sent an indirect warning to their rivals in the IPL 2024.
In a video posted on the official channel of the Orange Army, Cummins could be heard delivering an inspiring speech to his teammates. He said, "I will keep saying, you will hear from us all the time - that is how we want to play, it's not going to work every game but I can tell you, everyone is terrified when they come up against us & we got to blow some teams out of the water before they have even walked out on the field.”
He added, “Guys, we keep saying that we want everyone to be really brave, and aggressive, take the game on, and play with freedom. And you guys keep delivering with the bat. That was fantastic." Notably, the game saw Travis Head hitting a fierce 39-ball century, whereas Heinrich Klassen came up with another significant 31-ball 67. Their bowler Mayank Markande scalped two crucial wickets, including that of former RCB captain and batting icon Virat Kohli.
Speaking of the 2023 World Cup-winning captain, Cummins truly displayed captain-like prowess. He picked three important wickets, including that of Faf du Plessis, Saurav Chauhan, and Mahipal Lomror. Currently seated in the fourth spot of the standings, SRH will now clash against Delhi Capitals on April 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
