Dwayne ' The Rock' Johnson shared a heartfelt post after making a shocking return to the WWE universe on the first day of the first RAW of 2024. The WWE confirmed the same at the beginning of the show. Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal was the first one to walk out, and The Rock made a surprising entry for his fans as he interrupted the former WWE star when he was criticising the USA. Johnson’s highly-anticipated comeback unfolded with him engaging in a verbal and physical showdown with Mahal.
A day after his return, the 51-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a heartfelt post. He posted a video and tweeted, “It all hits differently. The theme, the crowd, the connection, the reaction, the electricity, the chills. Helluva way to bring in 2024. Grateful, blessed & inspired to forever be, the People’s Champ.” The Monday bout marked Johnson’s second comeback in four months; after making his previous comeback on September 15, in an episode of Smackdown, where he was involved in a segment with Austin Theory.
In his return fight, The Rock wasted no time and dubbed Mahal as ‘Day One Douchebag’ in the latter’s critique of the USA. In addition it, the American actor seemingly challenged Roman Reigns to a match at Wrestlemania 40 and asked the fans if he should sit at the ‘Head of the Table.’ For the unversed, Reigns calls himself ‘The Head of the Table’
Reigns took to X to react to The Rock’s tease and shared a laughing emoticon on social media. The 38-year-old’s post seemingly confirmed that the duo will be part of a storyline and will lock horns at Wrestlemania 40. He is set to defend his championship at Royale Rumble and will lock horns between one of AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight.
