The Haas F1 Team has confirmed that it will retain its current driver line-up of Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen for the 2024 Formula One season. The Carolina-based team announced the news ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, where the season resumes after a three-week hiatus.

Hülkenberg joined Haas in 2023 after a three-year break from racing, while Magnussen returned to the team in 2022 after being left without a full-time seat in Formula One. Hülkenberg was dropped by Renault at the end of 2019, while Magnussen spent a year away from the sport following his departure from Haas in 2020.

Both drivers are retained for 2024, but it is yet to be disclosed if their contracts have been extended further.  Team boss Guenther Steiner said, "I think it's safe to say that we've had an extremely solid driver pairing this season in Formula One, and ultimately there was no reason to look to change that moving forward.”

Steiner praised both the drivers as he further said, “Kevin is obviously a very well-known quantity to us, and I'm delighted he'll return for what will be his seventh season in Haas colours. With 113 starts for our team alone, we know where his strengths lie and his knowledge and experience of our organization pairs very well with that too.”

“On the other side of the garage, Nico's simply slotted in without fuss or fanfare and proved himself to be a valuable member of the team. He's approaching 200 starts in Formula One and we're very happy to be the beneficiary of that experience behind the wheel," he added.

The duo have a combined 346 career starts between them and have been working on building a bond despite a rough 2023 season. Both have collected points over the last 12 races, with Hulkenberg scoring the team’s best finish to date when he came seventh at the Australian Grand Prix in April. Haas currently sits eighth out of ten in the Constructors’ Championship with 11 points.
