Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant on Friday, October 4 turned 27. The Indian youngster recently helped India clean sweep Bangladesh 2-0 in the two-match Test series after he made his return to red-ball cricket after a hiatus post his horrific accident in December 2022.
Often known for his fighting attitude on the field, the Indian youngster has been in the limelight after he bounced back after being sidelined for more than 600 days. However, his comeback story has been one of the greatest in Indian cricket, like former Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh. The 42-year-old former Indian cricketer took to social media to extend his greetings on Pant’s birthday. Singh opted to share a compilation of Pant’s on and off the field moments, adding the famous “spider-man” song along with Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”. “Happy Birthday to the comeback king 👑 @rishabhpant 🎂 work hard and stay your fearless self! Hope this year ahead is one of fulfilment. God bless always 😇” Yuvraj Singh captioned the post.

IPL franchises hail Pant’s stronger comeback
Among several netizens and cricketers, the IPL franchises also extended their birthday greetings to Team India’s top wicketkeeper-batter. Pant’s IPL franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC) posted a special birthday video for Pant in a comic book style. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also brought out the ‘spidey’ memes, highlighting Pant’s chirpy stint behind the stumps.

Pant, who made his return to competitive cricket in IPL 2024, scored 446 runs from 13 matches at an average of 40.55 and strike rate of 155.40. During his stint in the 2024 edition of cash-rich league, Pant registered three 50-plus scores, thus earning the confidence of the selectors to get named in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.
He then went up to feature in India’s tour of Sri Lanka, followed by making his appearance in the Duleep Trophy before making his red-ball return in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. In the four innings, he scored 161 runs.
