India suffered a shocking 0-3 defeat in the recently concluded home Test series against New Zealand. This was a big setback for the Indian cricket team ahead of the upcoming Test tour to Australia, and has resulted in lots of opinions from people across the cricketing fraternity. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh also shared his thoughts after India’s disappointing Test series loss at home.

Harbhajan Singh said that India’s plan of preparing turning tracks has backfired as the Indian batter completely surrendered against the New Zealand spinners. Left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel shone in the third Test in Mumbai by taking 11 wickets in the match, including a six-wicket haul in the second innings. Harbhajan also opined that the upcoming Australian tour is going to be a lot more tougher for India, but the conditions will be better there for batting.

This entire series has been quite disappointing: Harbhajan Singh

During his latest interview, Harbhajan Singh shared his disappointment after India’s 0-3 loss against New Zealand. “This entire series has been quite disappointing for all of us. When New Zealand came here, the expectation was that the result would be 3-0, and India would win the series. I can only say that they outplayed us and they took advantage of those conditions,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

During his interview, Harbhajan Singh also took a dig at the Indian team stating that they ended up falling into a pit they dug for New Zealand as they preparing rank turners. He said, “The conditions here were offering a lot of turn - Gaddha khoda toh tha lekin gir khud gaaye (We dug a pit for others, but we ended up falling into it ourselves).”
