India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to leave Indian Premier League franchise Gujarat Titans and join Mumbai Indians after differences reported differences with the GT management. Pandya previously played for the Mumbai Indians and was pivotal in the team's four out of five IPL title wins. But ahead of the 2022 season, the Baroda all-rounder was released into th expansion draft and joined the Gujarat Titans.

The Titans with the Lucknow Super Giants were two new franchises and named Pandya their captain. The decision immediately paid off as the Titans won IPL 2022 with Hardik Pandya having a dream season. The success carried over to the next season with Gujarat reaching the IPL 2023 final but losing against the Chennai Super Kings.
From this point forward, differences emerged between Hardik Pandya and the GT management as per the Times of India, which quoted a BCCI official. Hence with the player confirmation deadline for the IPL 2024 auction being two days away, reports about Pandya possibly moving back to the Mumbai Indians surfaced.
Confirming these reports, TOI quoted a BCCI official, who revealed that Pandya and MI management have been working on the deal since the last IPL. Now both teams are working on the specifications of the transfer. After these details are ironed out, the trade will be announced.

The BCCI source, while speaking to TOI, said: "Hardik has been in talks with Mumbai Indians since the last IPL got over. Hardik and MI reached the decision a couple of months before the World Cup. The Titans management and Hardik have had growing differences. It's up to the two franchises to firm up the modalities and formalize the deal. An announcement will be made only after that."
