After dominating Czech football club Viktoria Plzen by 5-1 in their UEFA Champions League 2022-23 opener, Spanish club Barcelona faced a frustrating 2-0 defeat against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Chelsea defender Thiago Silva mocked former prospect Jules Kounde after his team succumbed to the Bundesliga champions.
On Tuesday, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez staged a young team including Pedri, Gavi, Kounde among others against competent Bayern Munich and faced a defeat. Chelsea players and fans were looking forward to Barcelona's defeat against Bayern as Jules Kounde became an enemy since he rejected to represent the London club.
The defeat received heavy criticism by Chelsea fans and veteran Brazil defender Thiago Silva took to Instagram to mock French defender Jules Kounde, who made some mistakes that partially led to Barcelona's defeat. Silva posted a story and mentioned, " He almost joined us " with a laughing emoji to take a dig at the 23-year-old French international.
Spanish giants Barcelona have kicked-off their LaLiga 2022-23 campaign on a high note by maintaining an unbeaten record in their five league fixture (W4, D1) and are currently on the second place in the standings behind defending champions Real Madrid.
