Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks held on to their nerves as they sealed a close encounter by 107-103 over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night at the Golden 1 Center. The win meant that the Mavericks leaps towards avoiding the NBA Play-in tournament spot and moving two full games ahead of the Kings in the Western Conference standings.
During the last four seconds of the match, when the Mavs were leading with three points, Doncic issued a free throw that sealed the deal for them. After scoring the free shot, the 25-year-old captured the moment as he was seen waiving goodbye to the courtside seated former Kings GM Vlade Divac while heading towards the bench.
The four-time All-NBA superstar also uttered, “he should’ve drafted me,” referring to the Divac’s decision to draft Marvin Bagley III over him in the 2018 draft. During the drafts of 2018, the then-Kings' GM chose Bagley over Divac despite his “great talent” remarks to him.
