The IPL 2024 transfer window concluded on November 26, Sunday with all ten franchises finalising their retention and released list of players. With some franchises releasing their key players like Ben Stokes, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harry Brook, the biggest news was Gujarat Titans’ trading captain Hardik Pandya to his former franchise, Mumbai Indians.

While the actual reason behind this trade is still unknown, the speculations are abuzz with everyone calling it a rift between the management and Pandya. What further raised the eyebrow was Jasprit Bumrah, the vice-captain of MI, sharing a cryptic post which read, “Silence is sometimes the best answer.” Throwing his hat into the ring, former India opener, Kris Srikkanth spoke about another reason, stating that Bumrah might have been hurt and this move might not be fair for his part.

He might feel it's not fair: Kris Srikkanth on Jasprit Bumrah

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth said, “You can’t find another cricketer like Jasprit Bumrah. Be it Tests or white-ball cricket, he is one of the best going around. He gave it his all in the World Cup. And as you said, in the fifth Test against England, he was the stand-in Test captain in 2022.”

“How must he be feeling? You can call it anger, ego. He would have been hurt, is the right thing to say. Either hi s ego is hurt or he is generally hurt. He must be thinking ‘I have been performing for the team for so long and how you have deceived me and gone instead for a left the team earlier and is now making a comeback’. He feels that things are not fair for him,” Srikkanth further added.

Speaking further, the former India cricketer drew similarity between Ravindra Jadeja and Chennai Super Kings with the team management coming in between and sorting out things. “In my opinion, what will happen is…. I am sure the team management will sit with Pandya, Bumrah and Rohit and sort out things,” he reiterated.
