South Africa batter Heinrich Klassen apologised to English pacer Mark Wood for his aggressive century celebration. South Africa and England locked horns in the 20th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 21, Saturday, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The English team opted to bowl after winning the toss and ended up leaking 399 runs. Proteas batters Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen contributed 121 runs to the scoreboard.

Heinrich Klassen continued the team's aggressive batting display and slammed 109 runs in just 67 balls. The batter completed his century in no time and roared in joy before Mark Wood, who was standing in front of him. However, Klassen was quick enough to realise his mistake and apologised to the opponent just after the end of the over.

Not only this, but both put an end to the rivalry quickly and finished the matter with a fist bump. Klassen’s hundred was Proteas’ fifth ton in the ongoing edition of the ODI World Cup. It is the joint most for them in a single edition of the marquee ICC event.
Speaking of the match, after a powerful bowling display, the Proteas extended their red-hot form in the second inning of the game as well. The South African bowlers absolutely destroyed the English batting order and knocked them out at 170 to register a 229-run win.
