Former England captain Kevin Pietersen came up with an epic reply to Gautam Gambhir’s remarks on his leadership. Recently, the former Indian opener and KKR’s mentor Gambhir gave his blunt opinion on Pietersen and former South Africa captain AB de Villiers’ leadership skills. Gambhir’s comments came as a reply to Pietersen and De Villiers’ criticism of Hardik Pandya’s captaincy.
Gambhir told Sportskeeda, "When they themselves did captaincy [were captains], what were their own performances like? I do not think that whether it is Kevin Pietersen or AB de Villiers, there have ever been performances in their careers from a leadership point of view. Nothing. If you look up their records, I think it's worse than any other leader.”

The former England cricketer came up with an epic reply to Gambhir’s comments and said that he wasn’t wrong. Pietersen replied to Gambhir’s video on X and wrote, “He’s not wrong. I was a terrible captain.” Notably, apart from Pietersen, Gautam also criticised De Villiers’ captaincy and said that he’s not achieved much in the IPL.
He said, "I don't think AB de Villiers has even captained any game in the IPL or ultimately achieved anything apart from his own scores. I do not think he has achieved anything from a team point of view. Hardik Pandya is still an IPL-winning captain. So, you should only compare orange to oranges, not apples to oranges.”
