Giannis Antetokoumpo, the 2021 NBA champion, took to his official X account to recreate the iconic throwback pic of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe, name-dropping Al-Hilal and Real Madrid. The Milwaukee Bucks star hilariously spoke about negotiating a deal with Al-Hilal before stating that he is on his way to Real Madrid, quoting their popular anthem “Hala Madrid.”
The Greek professional basketball player is quite a big fan of European football, and he often uses his social media to share his love for the beautiful game. Last year, Giannis Antetokoumpo also revealed his desire to be a part of the Saudi Pro League, albeit sarcastically, doing the keep-ups to ask whether there is a need for a striker in Saudi Arabia.
After Kylian Mbappe, the French football star, confirmed the news that he is joining his dream club Real Madrid, he posted a picture of himself from childhood alongside his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. In taking to his official X account, Giannis Antetokoumpo recreated the iconic throwback pic, putting his face card on Kylian Mbappe.
He captioned the post, “After the negotiations with Al Hilal. Madrid I’m on my way!! Hilal Madrid. Oops im sorry I meant Hala Madrid.”
Moreover, Giannis Antetokoumpo, who is currently recovering from a calf injury, is expected to play for Greece in the FIBA Men’s Olympic Qualifiers. He is slated to play against Egypt and the Dominican Republic in Group B on July 3 and 4 respectively.
