Rani Rampal, the former captain of the Indian women’s hockey team, slammed Air India for handing her a broken suitcase after a journey from Canada to India. The 29-year-old took to her official X account to post an image of her broken luggage before calling out the Air India staff for their service after landing in Delhi in the morning hours on Sunday, October 6, which led to the incident getting a lot of attention with her fans.
Notably, Rani Rampal, who became the youngest player to receive an India cap at the age of 15 during the Women’s Hockey World Cup 2010, was the part of the Indian women’s team’s epic campaign at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, when they finished in fourth place. The Padma Shri award recipient is also the gold medallist for India in the Asia Cup, Asian Champions Trophy, and South Asian Games during her illustrious career.
After landing in Delhi I found my bag broken: Rani Rampal
In her recent post on X, shared earlier today, Rani Rampal sounded quite unhappy towards Air India, and wrote, “Thank you Air India for this wonderful surprise. This is how your staff treat our bags. On my way back from Canada to India this afternoon after landing in Delhi I found my bag broken.” In response, Air India apologised to Rani Rampal for the inconvenience caused, but her fans felt that the response wasn’t adequate or on time.
“Dear Ms. Rampal, we apologise for the inconvenience caused. Please DM us your ticket details, bag tag number, and damage complaint number/DBR copy. We'll take this up,” wrote Air India on X. Rani Rampal responded back to Air India about sharing details on the matter before looking forward to getting it resolved, and wrote, “Have shared my details over DM. Hope I will get a resolution.”
