Denver Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray has expressed his disappointment over his in-game player rating in the upcoming NBA 2K24. Murray had a stellar 2022-23 season as he emerged as a crucial cog in Denver’s historic Championship run as they ran through the western conference before defeating a red-hot Miami Heat in the final.
Supporting the Western Conference Finals and NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic, Murray put up 26.1 points in the playoffs and carried the Nuggets to their maiden NBA title. Hence, the Candian star hoped for a better player rating than 84 which was lower than his previous seasons' ratings of 85 and 86.
Reacting to this news, Jamal Murray took to Twitter and questioned how is it even possible to have such a low rating as he posted, “Ain’t no way my rating that low! How is that possible??” This hasn’t been the first time an NBA player hasn’t liked his NBA 2K rating and called the game developers for their mistake. Last year, several stars like Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Karl-Anthony Towns called out 2K for issuing 'laughable' ratings for their characters.

Further talking about the new NBA 2K24, the new game will have the late Kobe Bryant as one of the cover athletes. The Los Angeles Lakers legend will grace two NBA 2K24 covers - the Black Mamba edition and Kobe Bryant edition this year. Both these versions allow fans to play out some of Bryant’s greatest career moments through NBA 2K24.
Speaking about the inclusions of the five-time NBA champions, the President of Visual Concepts Greg Thomas said, "As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he has had on the game of basketball."
