“He was my first international captain when I made my debut in Ireland. Then I’ve seem him play while I was just coming into the team (for) Test matches when he was captain. And such a big role model for all of us,” the 36-year-old further added, recalling the good old days when he made his debut.

The Team India skipper, Rohit Sharma opened up on when asked what to expect at the T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sharma added that spin will play a major factor at the ongoing tournament and this clarity gives a better picture on which players to include in the side.
“The spinners will have a role to play, a big one. Our spinners are all-rounders, Axar and Jadeja. They are required for a good balance of the team. In pace bowling all-rounders, we have Hardik and Shivam. We will think about how to use them in the tournament, as it progresses.” Rohit said in the pre-match press conference.
