The International Cricket Council (ICC), the governing body of world cricket, has confirmed that the semi-finals and final of the ODI World Cup 2023 will both have a reserve day. In case these highly anticipated matches in the knockout stage of the CWC 2023 don’t have a result due to weather, then the reserve day will be duly used by the ICC.

The first of the two semi-finals will be played between the hosts India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 15, while the second one is set to go down at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata between Australia and South Africa on the next day. The grand finale of the ODI World Cup 2023 will be played between the winners of both semi-finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

The CWC 2023 has been a grand success as far as the quality of ODI cricket on display in India during the last month or so. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, and Keshav Maharaj, are some of the players from the top four teams, who have set the stage alight in the flagship tournament thus far.

While Australia and India are the five-time and two-time world champions respectively, the other two teams remaining in the ODI World Cup 2023, New Zealand and South Africa, are yet to put their hands on the coveted trophy. But, with the ultimate triumph just two steps away, all four teams will be fancying their chances of becoming world champions in the year 2023.
