The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the stadium in New York which is set to host T20 World Cup 2024 matches in June. The construction of the first-of-its-kind Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is currently underway, and it is expected to be completed in just three months.
The 34,000-seater stadium is set to host eight matches at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, including the high-octane fixture between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan on June 9. As per the ICC, this stadium is going to have seating options including “admission, VIP and hospitality suites, as well as a unique party deck and cabanas.”

To be sustainable in the construction of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the grandstands from the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix are going to be repurposed for it. The design team “Populous,” who have created the Narendra Modi Stadium and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, are working on the stadium in New York.
The Chief Executive of the ICC, Geoff Allardice was quoted as saying about the unveiling of the new stadium for the upcoming T20 extravaganza in international cricket, “We are excited to be unveiling the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. It is an incredibly important milestone in the lead-up to the biggest ICC event ever, with work commencing on the stadium which will be able to accommodate 34,000 cricket fans.”
“We are partnering with world-class suppliers to deliver the modular stadium to ensure that players and fans can enjoy an unforgettable experience across the eight matches in New York in June this year,” he added.
The first match at the newly constructed stadium in New York during the T20 World Cup will happen between South Africa and Sri Lanka on June 3.
