Suryakumar stole the limelight as the 32-year-old smashed his third century in the format and first in the year 2023. He took just 45 balls to reach three figures with the help of 8 maximums and 6 boundaries. Meanwhile, Indian skipper Hardik Pandya heaped praise on his deputy by stating that he made the batting look so easy.

“I think he has been surprising everyone every innings that he is batting. He is just telling us that batting is so easy. If I bowling to him, I’d be disheartened on seeing his batting with the shot he plays. He has played blinders after blinders,” Pandya said after the game. Pandya further admitted that Suryakumar Yadav is an experience batter and knows how to react in every situation.

“You don’t need to tell him anything, he knows what to do. If there is any situation where he is unsure, we have our chats but more often than now, he knows what to do,” Hardik added.

Besides Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant century, Rahul Tripathi too played blistering innings as he scored 35 off just 16 deliveries. “Special mention to Rahul Tripathi – the ball was doing something, but he showed great intent,” said Hardik Pandya.

The skipper also revealed that he is ready to back his players in every situation, and he is pretty pleased with the performances of players in the series. “My motto in life as captain has been that I’ll back my players. These are the best T20 cricketers in India and that’s why they are here. There is no space for doubting in this format, and we are backing the players properly. The way we played in the series is pleasing,” concluded Hardik.
