Legendary India cricketer MS Dhoni, who called it quits from international career in August 2020, but remains an active player as he continues to ply his trade for five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), recently revealed the reason behind his low key social media presence. He also added that his managers kept pushing him , but the 43-year-old was just adamant on not having a PR.
Speaking on Eurogrip Tred Talks, Dhoni explained that his managers pushed him a lot to build his PR, but the Ranchi-cricketer just believed that if he played good cricket, he will automatically reach that level. It is to be noted that despite being one of the most recognisable figures in the sporting world, Dhoni has always stayed away from social media limelight.
If I play good cricket, I don't need PR: MS Dhoni
When asked about how he maintains such low social media profile, MS Dhoni replied, "I have never been a big fan of social media. Throughout, I have had different managers and all of them keep pushing. I started playing in 2004; Twitter got popular later on, after which Instagram came in.” “All the managers are like, 'You should do some PR, build this and build that.' I had the same answer that if I play good cricket, I don't need PR," Dhoni added while speaking on Eurogrip Tred Talks.
