Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hit back at Pep Guardiola over his "didn't win one" league title comment. Manchester City are winless in their last three Premier League matches as they have played three draws against Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham. Recently, pundits questioned their chances of winning a record fourth successive Premier League title, and the three-time defending champions boss, Pep Guardiola humorously defended his side’s three back-to-back draws.
Guardiola said, "Maybe, maybe I'm wrong and they are seeing everything that I'm not able to see, but I don't have that feeling. Jamie Carragher didn't win one (league title). Micah Richards didn't win four Premier Leagues in a row. Never, ever."

Carragher hits back at Guardiola
Carragher responded to Guardiola’s dig and said that he would have won the Premier League once a city-state owned the club. The Liverpool legend took to Twitter and said, “I think I’d have probably won one if Liverpool were owned by a nation-state, and pushed the rules so far that the PL charged us 115 times!! I was actually praising Pep’s team after the game on Sunday” Notably, City are facing 115 charges from the Premier League for breaching financial regulations from the 2009-10 season.
City are currently third in the 2023-24 standings, trailing the table toppers Arsenal (36) by six points but have a game in hand, with Liverpool (31) in second. City will travel to Aston Villa for their forthcoming match, set to be played on Wednesday, December 6. Manchester City haven't been at their best after their historic campaign in the 2022-23 season.
