Fast bowling star Shaheen Afridi has urged Pakistan fans to support their team despite a disappointing T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in the USA and West Indies. The Men in Green suffered a shock defeat against the Americans in a thrilling Super Over and then blew out a comfortable chase against India before beating Canada to win their first game.
After this abysmal start, cricketing experts and fans ripped into the Pakistani team. The players were called names while the supports flooded social media with countless memes and posts. Addressing this criticism, Shaheen Afridi requested the fans to get behind the team in these difficult times.
If you can't support the team now, you are just like the media: Shaheen Afridi
Speaking to CrickWick, Shaheen Afridi said, "Everyone supports you in good times, but I've always said that fans must support us in tough times. We are your team, not a gully cricket team or a team where players have been picked based on recommendations. If you can't support the team now, you are just like the media."
