Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who is under experts’ radars for their poor performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, gave a fantastic reply to a journalist questioning his captaincy. The 29-year-old has been time and again compared to the Indian batting icon and former skipper Virat Kohli. With Pakistan’s near-zero chances of making it to the playoffs for CWC’23, Azam’s skills were once again questioned.

In the pre-match conference ahead of Pakistan’s clash with England, Azam was asked to play the role of Virat Kohli for his side. Rather than ignoring the question or going easy about it, Azam came up with a befitting reply. Azam said that if someone wants to advise him about something, they should message him instead of saying anything on the TV.

Azam minced no words and said, "TV pe baith ke mashwara dena asaan hota hai. Agar mashwara dena hai toh number toh sabke paas hi hai (If someone has to give me advice, everyone has my number. It is easy to give advice on TV. If you want to give me some advice, you can message me).”

The journalist had asked him, "With regards to your captaincy, can't a cricketer like you play the role that Virat Kohli is playing in the Indian team? To prolong your career and focus more on cricket? Because sometimes it feels like this burden hurts your individual performance.”

The Men in Green will play their final league match against the 2019 winners and need to win it by a huge margin if they want to make it to the semifinals.
