After a disheartening loss in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Final, India will lock horns with World Champions Australia in a five-game T20I series from November 23. Ahead of the first T20I in Visakhapatnam, the Indian team had a rather intense net session at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.

The net session saw the likes of Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Jitesh Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and  Rinku Singh go for a hit. While all-rounder Shivam Dube worked on his range at the stadium before polishing up his bowling skills with a few pacers like  Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar and  Avesh Khan.

The Indian pace battery also had a specialised session on bowling towards death as the group was seen practising yorkers both at the stumps and wide outside the off-stump. Amidst all these sessions, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was seen amid a long and intense conversation with head coach VVS Laxman at the ground.

SKY also attended the press conference where spoke about the recent ODI World Cup heartbreak and the selfless role played by Rohit Sharma. He also stressed on the fact that he hopes to instil these values in this team.  "What I told them [squad] when I met them in the afternoon today was let's be very selfless when we go into the field," Suryakumar said.

"Because I'm a guy who doesn't think too much about the personal milestones and instead thinks of the team's goal. And I've always told them that you have to keep the team first and then whatever comes after that, you can take your call. And I've played with them a lot of times during the IPL and a few India games as well, so they know how I function. And it wasn't that difficult and we are really excited to go about in the series," he continued.
