On Tuesday, October 1, the Indian cricket team defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second Test of the two-match Test series at the Green Park in Kanpur. The final day’s play saw Indian bowlers bundle out Bangladesh in the second innings for 146 runs before chasing down the paltry target of 95 runs with the help of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s quick-fire fifty.

The second Test match was severely impacted by rain and wet outfield on its first three days, which led to the Indian cricket team forcing the issue with the bat on day four, scoring 285/9 in just 34.4 after bundling out Bangladesh for 233 runs. The Indian batters were quite aggressive against all kinds of bowlers thrown towards them by Bangladesh, notching up the fastest team 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 in a Test innings across formats.

Rishabh Pant tried to be very aggressive in the Indian first innings, but he lost his wicket on a single digit score, while his boundary in the second innings notched up the comfortable win for the hosts in the second Test after he had yet another impressive match behind the stumps. Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj weren’t given as many overs as their senior compatriots, but still, they managed to pick up a couple of key wickets in both the Bangladesh innings.
