India have thrashed England to complete a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series against England after a convincing win in the third ODI at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For India, Shubman Gill went on to score his seventh ODI ton as the hosts were bowled out for 356 runs after the end 50 overs. In reply England were bowled out for 214 runs in 34.2 overs as India won the match by 142 runs. With this win, India completed a whitewash against England ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Batting first, India didn’t get a great start as skipper Rohit Sharma got out after scoring just 1 run. After that, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 116 runs for the second wicket. Kohli got out after scoring 52(55) runs with seven fours and a maximum, while Gill top scored with 112(102) runs hitting 12 fours and three sixes. Apart from that, Shreyas Iyer also contributed with 78(64) runs hitting eight fours and two sixes, while KL Rahul scored 40(29) runs with three fours and a six.
England lose momentum after good start, India win series by 3-0
Chasing the winning target, England got a flying start as Phil Salt (23 off 21) and Ben Duckett (34 off 22) added 60 runs for the first wicket in 6.2 overs. After that, the Indian bowlers made a comeback as England kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Tom Banton top scored with 38(41) runs while Joe Root scored 24(29) runs.
Apart from that, none of the other batters could play a big knock as England were bowled out for 000 runs in 000 overs. For India, Harshit Rana, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each, while Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav scalped a wicket each.
