Rishabh Pant walks off after getting injured; Dhruv Jurel replaces him
Things got worse for the Indian team as during New Zealand’s innings, Indian wicket keeper batter Rishabh Pant got injured after a left-knee injury. The incident took place when Pant was attempting to collect a delivery in the 37th over. The 27-year-old was seen in visible discomfort, which prompted India’s physios to rush onto the field. He was given first aid, but despite the effort, he had to be carried off and was replaced by substitute wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel.
For the unversed, Pant returned to the cricketing action after a 14-month rehabilitation process after the injuries he sustained in a horrible car accident in 2022. Speaking of the match, New Zealand were batting at 167-3 by the end of the 44th over.
