The 2019 runners-up in New Zealand will next take on the hosts, Team India at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on October 22, Sunday. But ahead of this clash between the table toppers, New Zealand’s stand-in skipper Tom Latham confirmed that Tim Southee is fit and is available for selection. In the pre-match press conference, Latham said, “He’s available for selection.” It is to be noted that Southee had suffered a thumb injury during the ODI series against England ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India and was sidelined for the first four matches in the showpiece event.

While talking in the pre-match presser, Latham added, “Kane’s obviously till nursing hi thumb injury. It’ a day-by-day process with him a well. Fingers crossed he’ll be available for later on in the tournament.”
